The usual weekend catch up... !

Saturday we went to Devonport and caught the ferry downtown, and then had lunch at a nice cafe (no cafe photos, sorry!).

It was quite a windy day, so we made sure everyone was nicely bundled up.



We think Erin really enjoyed the ride on the ferry !

Sunday was a quieter day, although we did go for a walk in the morning to the local cafe. The weather was good, so once we'd got home and after her nap - Erin got "lunch" out on the deck with Daddy.

Please note the very stylish sunglasses mommy bought for Erin in anticipation of our trip to Australia in November ;)

Nothing much to report since then, just a cute photo of what we like to call Erin's 'milk drunk' look after she's had a really good feed ! This was taken just after her 2pm bottle today.

On Friday afternoon Erin had a play date with her friend Caitlin, born only five days after she was! I think photos will tell this story best.

Sometime this week Erin and I are going over to Caitlin and her mum Toni's for another play date, watch this space !

The weekend roundup

On Saturday Uncle Graeme and Aunt June came to visit, along with Aunty Caroline. Aunt June even got to help with feeding time !

And we may as well let it be known that we will be going to Sydney, Australia for a visit in November - to see Uncle Alex, Aunt Karen, cousin Zara, AND Uncle Jason and Aunt Dani. So, this of course means that Erin will need a passport, and therefore a passport photo. Here are a couple of examples of the shots Daddy took - it can be done at home as long as the background is white and their mouth is closed and eyes are open. (Yes, we laughed too....)

Then on Sunday someone was tired but refusing to go to sleep, so we resorted to the "last resort"...

We are so proud !!!!!!!!!

There are a bunch more photos from today that I promise to put up tomorrow (we had some visitors)... but there is just one that I HAVE to put up in the meantime - and all of the other mommies and daddies and relatives that read this will understand why...

Just a little more than 8 weeks old (and yes, just after bath time) and check out that head control and those strong little neck muscles !! Go Erin !!

Fathers Day and sleeping babies...

Here in NZ Fathers Day is celebrated on September 3rd, which for us was a Sunday. We went out in the late morning / early afternoon for a drink and a bit of lunch with some friends of ours who have left to go back to the UK (London). They had finished the rental contract on their house so had decided to spend the last couple of days before their flight in a nice hotel in town.

We've also tentatively decided to see if Erin will sleep in her Big Bed aka the Cot, and so tried her for a nap in it - seemed to go relatively well, so we will try her overnight sleep tonight it in and see what happens. Of course there are photos of this as well...

Sunbathing Baby

So the weather here today isn't too bad, and we finally gave Erin some time without those nuisance nappies and clothes on, to kick and play in the sun. Unfortunately, the only device available with which to record such a moment, was mommy's cellphone, so the quality of the footage isn't the greatest. We did take some photos with Daddy's camera, but haven't uploaded them yet - so they'll be along in the next entry.

Anyhow, enjoy !

Ok so, there *was* meant to be a video clip here - but there have been some compatiblity problems between Jax's cellphone, her computer, and the hosting service - and the mini-clip we took of Erin got severely muddled up. Oh well, next time ! We do however, have a couple of still photos for you all in the meantime...
