Short and sweet.

It has been yet another busy week at work, but life is really rolling along at the moment - we signed on the house we're in now (finally!) and are now in the process of looking for a new one. We've tentatively pinpointed an area we'd like to live in, which is a good start.

Besides house hunting, we also did a bit of shopping on the weekend, for groceries and a few other items, plus this:

The 'Bump' has also officially become The Blimp, I'll show you what I mean when I sign off - I'll post the latest picture that we took with Rols' nice camera (instead of my dinky webcam).

I do have to say thank you SO much to Uncle Ray and Aunt Rosie for the card and the $$ - we appreciate it very very much and it will be *VERY* useful, we are likely to put it towards a new bed at this stage, which will go nicely with a new house when we finally find one.

We are still thrilled to bits with being married, life is just as awesome as ever !

As was pointed out in our last post though, baby was a bit shy - but the latest development is that my midwife agreed I could go for another scan at 26 weeks, which is around the end of the first week of April. If that doesn't work out, we will give up and just have to find out the old fashioned way ;-)

Now, I'm sure there's probably more news to share - I just can't remember it right now ! I know my posts have been a bit sporadic, but I will eventually switch everything over to this journal from the other one and then hopefully have a bit more to say a bit more often !

Bye for now...

PS - I will warn you now, the picture I'm about to post (the one I mentioned before of the 'Blimp') is not for the faint hearted :-P

Naughty Baby !!

We went for our 19 week scan today, and the umbilical cord was in the way !! Very frustrating to say the least. I'm hoping we can book in for another scan at 26 weeks when the sonographer said there would be a better chance of confirming things. She did say her gut / instinct told her it was a girl, but because we couldn't *really* see there was no way of being sure. The only catch would be that if we went for another scan to try and see the gender, it wouldn't be considered a 'routine' scan and we would have to pay in full. We shall see how things go !

In other 'family' news, I got 'found out' at work - it was the most hilarious thing ever ! We are talking about the wedding of course, only one or two people knew, and they were the ones who oversee our rosters / shifts etc. (as I had managed to get a rostered day off rather than having to use leave you see). Roland had much the same reactions apparently, hehehe. It guess not *too* many people keep it small these days, and are hooked on the 'big wedding' dream - I wouldn't have minded, but at the same time, our day was perfect and I really couldn't have asked for better (virtually *zero* stress).

Anyhow, another long week for both (both and a half?) of us, when I have 7:30am starts Roland and I can share the commute together which is nice.

It doesn't feel *too* different being married, but when I really think about it, I get a big goofy grin on my face - our life together is pretty amazing.

Goodnight everyone, and take care !

Growing sprout....

Another busy week has come and gone, as has the weekend, and the little sprout seems to be growing very very quickly ! I feel somewhat like an old lady as I have to move around reasonably slowly or things get a bit sore, but otherwise all is well. Here is the beginning of a series of pictures I plan to take to show our 'progress'...

As Roland and I were doing a tidy up of the house we also did a bit of a 'stocktake' of the baby stuff we've accumulated so far, and we're not doing too badly ! I think by the time baby gets here we'll be well and truly ready - at least as far as supplies go.

Otherwise there hasn't been anything too exciting going on, I had work on Saturday, and there were open homes for the house both Saturday and Sunday. We took a look at the Chinese New Year Lantern festival, but it was pretty average - not as much happening as last year.

Anyway, yet another busy week lies ahead, so I'll finish off for now :)

Our first post... !

So, this is going to be a bit off the cuff, but basically this journal was started with more of a 'family focus' in mind... instead of a Jacquie-focus, heehee. We're aiming for more of a balance, and to equally include the adventures of Roland, Jacquie, and soon-to-be Baby Bird ! I'll probably still keep up the other blog, although I'm not sure for how long. We'll also try and include more photos in the actual journal entries, which provides extra reason for Roland to use his beloved camera.

Apologies for this entry being quite short, but I can promise there will be plenty more yet to come !
